I was halfway home when I realized I might never see you again Words at the end of a string Never seemed to come so hard I think I'd rather be alone, than never to have known The way your smile touches me Things that can never be, except when we dream Are better in someone else's reality I wonder if you'll miss me In the same way that I miss you Wondering how you're passing your time When you’re so far away I think I'd rather be alone, than never to have known The way your smile touches me Things that can never be, except when we dream Are better in someone else's reality I've got to stop this storyline that keeps running through my head Trying anything to fall asleep the minute I hit the bed Emptying out the camera in my mind to erase images of you

Say You Will 04:46
You say that I'm the only one for you Then you push me away again Over and over again we play this game In the same way Your smile draws me back again And I know that I'll never leave Even knowing that all too soon You'll be far away and alone One day I'll ask you to say I don't know what you'll say but... Say you will and I will always be the one who takes the blame Say you will and I know that I will never feel the same again In troubled times I held you close Knowing it would be all right In happy times I ran with you Until the day long became night Trying to keep the world at bay And your innocence here Every day that passes brings you closer To your own time One day I'll ask you to say I don't know what you'll say but... Say you will and I will always be the one who takes the blame Say you will and I know that I will never feel the same again How I feel so proud when I see you smiling back at me Fearing the day you let go of my hand and walk away

In Motion 04:10
I've been waiting for such a long long time Seems like forever since I first called you mine And I've been waiting for this moment to pass I can't believe that right now has come so fast I've been waiting for such a long long time And I'll keep waiting until the end of time In motion, emotion And I'll just stay right here, as long as you'll be near In motion, emotion And I'll just stay right here, as long as you'll be near Summer's come and gone just like yesterday All this time has passed and I still don't know what to say When you are near me and we've got some time alone Just stay here with me and then I will always be home I've been waiting for such a long long time And I'll keep waiting until the end of time In motion, emotion And I'll just stay right here, as long as you'll be near In motion, emotion And I'll just stay right here, as long as you'll be near

Left Behind 04:24
Time spent looking over pictures in an album Paint spilled from tiny hands drawing love Light shining through spots where trees once gave shade Mirrors we looked in back when we were young One day these walls will be bare Only photos left, in my mind And yet I know that this home will be filled With all of the love that we left behind Empty streets where laughs once rang loud Cold seats where we once held on so tight Windows that will look on an empty yard Hands that will miss guiding you home One day these walls will be bare Only photos left, in my mind And yet I know that this home will be filled With all of the love that we left behind

Every Time 02:53
"Excuse me sir" he said to me with a small frown on his face "It seems I've lost my way" I looked over and sadly smiled as I walked away "I'm sorry, I've also lost my faith" It's times like these I know that There's got to be something more Every time I look outside I wish I could see the beauty in your eyes Every time I look inside I see the memories that make up our lives The days come and go and time seems to pass so fast Just what've I got left to hold on to anymore? Wanting to slow down time and breathe in so deep Knowing this is the life I’ve always longed for It's times like these I know that There's got to be something more Every time I look outside I wish I could see the beauty in your eyes Every time I look inside I see the memories that make up our lives Please tell me I'm not lost I've paid the price and counted the cost Moving forward while stuck in the past Knowing my love for you will always last

Merry go round spinning around Bright lights fill the night sky Cotton Candy lingers in your mouth But we can't give it one more try I'm holding you close, so tight in my arms Don't ever want to let you go Waiting for the ferris wheel To ease down nice and slow So long at the fair You know I'll always love you so Goodbye at the fair For now you've got to go “Win one here” scream carnival hawkers “Win one here tonight” I'd win the whole world for you Just to make everything all right The passers by are holding hands Laughing, they don't have a care Oh how I wish you were still with me Here with me at the fair So long at the fair You know I'll always love you so Goodbye at the fair Why did you have to go? Now the night is growing old How the time passed us by Alone here with the memory of you And we're still wondering why Holding you close down in my heart I'll never let you go Tears blurring out the fair You left more pain than you'll ever know So long at the fair Things will never be right Goodbye at the fair I'll love you always So long at the fair Things will never be right Goodbye at the fair I'll love you always tonight

credits

released August 9, 2019

Sara Ess - vocals
Christopher Byron - keyboards, fretless bass tracks 3 and 5
Russ Benoit - drums, guitars, bass

This EP is a collection of songs written between 1992 - 2019, and all revolve around relationships & family in one way or another.

The Apathy Parade began as a solo project by Russ, who quickly realized that since he's a drummer some outside musicians would add so much more depth to the songs. Close friend and former bandmate Chris hopped on board, bringing Sara to provide lead vocals. The end result, after months of emailing tracks back and forth, is this EP.

Mixing and mastering by Russ Benoit at The Broom Closet.
